Seems everyone is busier than ever these days...long hours at work, running errands, taking the kids to football practice, keeping up on housework, paying the bills, trying to fit in social time. Yes, life is full! Because of that, we spend a lot of time preparing for our time together on Sundays. We want you to come spend a morning in an environment that is affirming, uplifting, challenging, and above all, honoring to God.
We love creativity, so we can't promise that every service will follow this format, but each Sunday will generally be inclusive of these elements:
For the first 20 minutes or so, we spend time worshipping God through song. Our style is fairly contemporary, but you'll often hear a favorite hymn, as well. We strive to create an environment in which people are free to worship in a way that is meaningful to them. It is our goal that you feel safe and comfortable enough to have a real, authentic encounter with God through worship.
We want you to come spend a morning in an environment that is affirming, uplifting, challenging, and above all, honoring to God.
Welcome and Community
| We’ll briefly tell you about a few things happening around here and then give you an opportunity to say hi to those around you.
Prayer is an essential part of our service. You will find it incorporated throughout, sometimes with a specific emphasis, and other times, it's open to allow you personal time to spend with God.
For those who value the mission of VCC and are learning to give, this is a time to give back to God a portion of what He’s given to us.
Pastor Roger will give a 25 to 30 minute message about applying God’s Truth to our lives. Although we are often at some point within a sermon series, each week has stand alone value based on God's Word that will be meaningful and relevant to all. We strive to provide a variety of ways to communicate the message; on any given Sunday you may find drama, special music, a video, a personal testimony...creative ways that help drive the message home!
We typically end our services by offering a time of prayer for those who need it. We are not in a rush to end, so if you would like someone to pray for/with you, don't hesitate to move to the front of the Sanctuary where people are waiting to pray with you. From there, feel free to connect with others after the service, visit the Information Desk, or stop by a Patio table to learn more about specific ministries/events.
